Ananya is an actor currently based in Australia. From a young age she loved performing and participated in dance, choir, drama and debating. Throughout her time in high school she participated in musicals and drama however decided to put more focus on her academic subjects during this period, determined to achieve high results. Ananya’s final score got her accepted into law school.

Acting had always been Ananya’s dream and so she auditioned for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts New York. She was thrilled to be accepted. The choice between law school and acting was simple - she chose acting. She began her professional training in a hybrid setting and had the unique experience of training in and out of pandemic restrictions all while living in Midtown Manhattan.

Working on the character of Mina in Kate Hamill’s modern adaption of Dracula was a highlight. Michael Toomey, the director, was very trustful in the way he worked. Between his subtle approach and the personal parallels and connections she was drawing from the character, she had an incredible experience performing in her graduation series.

Since graduating, she has performed in various plays (see resume) as well as working at The Tank NYC, welcoming to their stages new talent and original work. She got the chance to meet and work with industry guests, emerging artists, producers, directors and the incredible team.
