Hi, Iām Ananya and I am an Australian actor. From a young age I loved performing and participated in dance, choir, drama and debating. My love for acting took me to an audition at the Hilton Hotel where I submitted to enrol in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
I was accepted shortly after my audition and then the pandemic started! After months of emailing with the college, applying for visas and government exemptions, and many, many covid tests, I arrived in New York.
This experience was a dream come true, being trained by teachers that had decades of professional experience across film, TV and theatre. I trained in classical theatre and film and TV.
In my graduation series I played Mina Harker in a modern adaptation of Dracula. I worked with a unique director, Michael Toomey. His approach involved play and unpredictability giving all of his students the chance to be comfortable and express their creative potential.
Since graduating I performed in off broadway plays while working at The Tank NYC. The Tank is an indie theatre company supporting independent artists and their work. I feel very grateful to have been a part of their team. Upon returning to Australia I worked in hospitality, receiving two 5 star google reviews for dedication to guest care.
